The Last Emperox is coming out in April of 2020! This will be book three in The Interdependency series by John Scalzi. If you like your sci-fi with a little irreverence and profanity, and I do, this is worth checking out. If you dig Wil Wheaton’s voice, he does the audio versions.

Even though it was 71°, it was still a pretty nice morning for the run.

Another nice upgrade in the Dexcom G6 is that it dumps my data right into Apple Health.

I’ve switched to the Dexcom G6, which is more accurate than the Freestyle Libre that I was using. My average glucose for the last 7 days is 131 mg/dL with a pretty high standard deviation of 40. There were a couple of “glucose excursion” days this week, so should be pretty easy to do better during the next 7 days.

My alma mater has launched a podcast, Out of Curisosity. They also go the extra mile and provide transcripts for each episode, like this one about weather prediction.

Is Wimbledon the Glastonbury for the olds (aka rich) of England?

I thought it would be fun to try and get on the newsletter bandwagon. It’s a really hard thing to sustain for any appreciable amount of time. I’m back at it though, just like I am with this fun little blog experiment. Anyways, here’s Weekend Reading for 7/13/2019.

Halo effect

The Killers playing Mr. Brightside at Glastonbury 2019 is fantastic, and not just because Johnny Marr is on guitar. There’s a Middle 8 video that breaks down the song and that it’s still on the charts and they play it at every show.

I wonder if them coming from Vegas helps them play that song, from what will probably be the rest of their career as a band.
